Sonia specializes in art direction, costuming, design and styling

Sonia Chedli is a Toronto-born fashion stylist and costumer. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she studied psychology and fine art history. After completing her Honours Bachelor of Science degree, she decided to relocate to Paris to pursue her life-long interest in design. There, she enrolled in the Studio Berçot fashion design program.

During her formative years studying in France, Sonia honed her craft by assisting leading editors in the industry at Vogue Hommes International and Dapper Dan Magazine. Through these work experiences she discovered an affinity for the fast-paced, collaborative world of editorial storytelling through photography. She subsequently began creating her own fashion stories and contributing to international publications.

Sonia’s unique aesthetic stems from her keen eye for detail, her ability to predict trends and her passion for the research and development stages of the design process, which culminated in an expertise in sourcing the most striking visual documents, rare objects, innovative textiles and garments.

In 2020 Sonia became a costume department permittee with the IATSE Local 873 film union in Toronto, Canada. She has worked as a costume assistant on Apple TV's 'See' (Seasons 2 & 3) and the HBO Max miniseries 'Station Eleven’. She recently completed a show-run as a costume assistant on 'The Big Cigar', which will be streaming on Apple TV in 2023.

Sonia is a Canadian and EU citizen.
